Cozy: Favors to Keep Guests Warm

December with Dear Wedding Day: Cozy

Winter weddings can be absolutely beautiful, but cold. Keep your guests warm during your celebration with these cozy favors. Show me your "cozy" on Instagram and Facebook with hashtag #decemberwithdwd!

Personal "Cozy" Post:
Scarves are the epitome of cozy, and this particular scarf holds a special memory for me. Last year for Christmas, my family and I took a trip to Europe for a river cruise on the Rhine. It was so amazing to tour all of the Christmas markets, sip gluehwein, visit new countries, and spend quality time with my family. This scarf was a souvenir that the river cruise gave us, and it will always take me back to one of the best trips of my life.

Hot Cocoa: DIY Layered Favors

December with Dear Wedding Day: Hot Cocoa

If you thought Tuesday's DIY Loose Tea Favors post was cute, but you're more of a hot cocoa person,  then this post is for you! Enjoy making these layered cocoa jars and show me your hot cocoa on Instagram and Facebook with hashtag #decemberwithdwd.

What You'll Need:
1. Mini Marshmallows | 2. Mini Chocolate Chips | 3. Small Jars | 4. Twine | 5. Tags | 6. Letter Stamps | 7. Colored Stamp Pad | 8. Powdered Sugar | 9. Cocoa Powder | 10. Dried Milk Powder

The Mix: Layer the ingredients. Start with 6 tablespoons of powdered sugar, then 3 tablespoons cocoa powder, 6 tablespoons dried milk powder, and finally, fill the remainder of the jar with the chocolate chips. Once layered, add some marshmallows! I added some on top and the remainder in the jar's lid.

The Tags: You can easily buy "thank you" tags from a craft store, but I decided to make mine. I used my Cricut and cut out small tags with patterned paper. I then used letter stamps with teal ink to spell out "thanks." This was my first time using stamps, and I loved it! I then tied them around the neck of the jars with the twine.

Voila! Layered Hot Cocoa Mix!

When I made the first jar, I wasn't sure how much would fit, so I divided the recipe I found in half to be sure. Turns out, the whole recipe fit! I definitely prefer the single layered jars to the double layers.

Personal "Hot Cocoa" Post:
The holiday season to me means peppermint hot chocolate. It just smells like Christmas in a cup. I made my cup in this Illinois mug that my sister gave me when I first moved in with her after relocating from California. It was the perfect "Welcome to Illinois" gift and the perfect mug for a steaming cup of peppermint hot chocolate.

Warmth: DIY Loose Tea Favors

December with Dear Wedding Day: Warmth

What You'll Need:
1. Tacky Glue | 2. Twine | 3. Labels | 4. Scissors | 5. Loose Leaf Tea | 6. Measuring Spoon | 7. Tins

1. Measure 2-3 servings of loose tea into each tin. I used Teavana Cha Yen Thai Tea, which called for 1 teaspoon per cup of tea. I added 3 teaspoons to each of my tins. I bought my tins from Hobby Lobby, but they can be ordered in bulk from any craft store.

2. Put lids on tins once full.

3. Print labels. I used the template supplied by Something Turquoise, but added my own flair and saying: For Eterni-tea.

4. Cut out labels.

 5. Apply tacky glue to backs of labels.

6. Paste labels onto tin lids.

7. Measure and cut twine. Cut enough so that it can be wrapped around the tin twice and tied in a bow.

Voila! Super cute and easy favors to give your tea-loving guests.

Personal "Warmth" Post:
I absolutely love tea; just simple english breakfast with some milk and sugar. I've grown up with it, always having a cup before bed. What makes this post special is my mug. I went to university in California at UC Davis and had an amazing experience. Because of the memories, this is now my favorite tea mug.
