The Dress: Ashley will wear an a-line gown with a lace bodice and sweetheart neckline designed by Stephanie Allin.

The Look: Ashley will carry a bouquet filled with cream and burgundy flowers. She will wear her hair down in soft curls with a diamond and cream ribbon headband and earrings encrusted with diamonds and and her birthstone, garnet.

The Bridesmaids: Ashley's ladies will wear lace-detailed BHLDN dresses in black cherry and will carry cream and burgundy bouquets with hints of light pink.

The Groom & Groomsmen: The groom will stand out in a darker grey jacket, while his men wear light grey vests. Each man will wear a burgundy tie and a rustic burgundy boutonniere.

The Reception: The reception space will be decorated with string lights to add some romance. The wooden tables will be decorated with cream lace runners and a mixture of floral centerpieces in wooden boxes and floating cream and gold candles.

The Place Setting & Favors: Each place setting will be accented with a burgundy napkin, gold silverware, and the guests' favors: wine corkscrews

The Cake: Ashley's cake will be a showstopper! It will be a three-tier cake, with the bottom tier decorated with swirled ruffles, the centre tier in plain cream, and the top tier with gold sparkles. To top it off will be a gold glittered "love" topper and an assortment of burgundy flowers.

Next week, a Halloween-infused wedding.

Friendly Inspiration: Maddison

To check out the inspiration behind this rustic barn wedding, be sure to check out the intro post here!

Maddison's Friendly Inspiration:

The Colour Palette: Mixing natural colours like brown, cream, tan, and sunflower yellow with light pastels makes for a beautifully coloured wedding.

The Invitations: Maddison wanted a barn wedding with mason jars and lights everywhere - when I came across this invitation, I just knew it was meant to be!

The Venue: Cayucos Creek Barn

Ceremony: A rustic barn is the perfect backdrop for the nuptials.

Reception: The barn opens up to a spacious room perfect for a celebration.

The Bride:

The Bridal Gown: This Tia Adora gown is so unique! With its off-the-shoulder detailing and the beautiful back, it was both my favourite choice and Maddison's.

The Look: A braided updo will be adorned with two types of hair pins: bejewelled and white gardenias. To top off the look: an embellished veil that is thin enough to show off the back of the gown.

The Accessories: A beautiful bouquet filled with the colour palette and the requested sunflowers will be carried by the bride. For some rustic whimsy, this gorgeous garter will be added to her look. For the jewelry, simple silver and diamond earrings, necklace, and tennis bracelets will be worn.

The Bridesmaids: The bridesmaids will hold a bouquet with the same yellow and purple flowers as the bridal bouquet, which will match a gorgeous buttercup Jim Hjelm Occasions dress.

The Groom and Groomsmen: The men will go sans jackets for a more relaxed feel, along with brown slacks, a cream dress shirt, a yellow tie, and sunflower boutonnieres.

The Decorations:

The Flowers: The main flower used in this wedding will be sunflowers, accompanied by cream, sage, lavender, peach, and white flowers.

The Ceremony: To keep the rustic feel alive at the ceremony, the barn will act as the backdrop, only decorated with cream chiffon drapes and a floral garland. The aisle will be decorated with hanging mason jars filled with flowers on the outer chairs.

The Reception: Per the bride's request, the inside of the barn will be completely covered in lights - with twinkle lights, lanterns, and chandeliers. Small pendant flags in the colour scheme will liven up the space.

The Reception Tables: Burlap and lace are the quintessential rustic fabrics, so it's only natural to have a runner made of the same materials. Atop the runner will sit distressed cream square plates, a sage napkin, and a sunflower place card. The centrepieces will be mason jars filled with flowers, wooden candle holders, floating flowers, and mason jar table numbers.

The Cake: A wooden tree stump is the perfect cake stand for this sunflower decorated cake.

The Drinks: A sign with the words: "Your glass for the night for whatever tastes right; Yours to keep, let it help you find your seat" will help lead the guests to their mason jar cocktails, along with their table.

The Favours: Something sweet and savoury will be waiting for the guests in simply decorated mason jars filled with salted caramels.

Friendly Inspiration: Ashley J

If you missed yesterday's introduction to Ashley's Friendly Inspiration, be sure to check it out here to see the ideas and creations behind today's post!

Ashley J's Friendly Inspiration:

The Colour Scheme: Shades of teal, yellow, and grey will surround this wedding.

The Invitations: The burlap lends itself to the rustic feel and the lace to the vintage; plus, it has a great teal-coloured centre.

The Venue: The Roaring Camp Railroads is the cutest venue! It has an old schoolhouse on the property, along with a vintage train and other adorable features. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was the perfect location!

The Bride:

The Dress: When I went looking for the perfect dress for Ashley, I pulled several all lace dresses, like she requested, but also pulled this Allure Bridal dress. It was my wild card option, but when Ashley saw it, she fell in love with it just as I did.

The Accessories: A unique bracelet combo and pear-shaped earrings will add some blingy-features to Ashley's look, along with a bead-trimmed veil to match her dress. For the bouquet, an arrangement of butter yellow, white, and teal flowers was chosen.

The Bridesmaids: This grey bridesmaids dress will pair perfectly with the neckline and style of the bridal gown. A yellow-filled bouquet with white accents will stand out perfectly against the grey dress.

The Groom and Groomsmen: To incorporate the colour teal into the wedding party, the men will wear subtly striped teal ties with their deep grey suits. A matching boutonniere to the bouquets offers the perfect yellow accent.

The Decorations:

The Flowers: A combination of yellow and teal flowers, plus grey accents, will be used throughout the ceremony and reception.

The Ceremony: There are three different aspects to the ceremony decor: the backdrop, the flowers, and the aisle. The backdrop will be a set of teal-stained distressed doors; the flowers will be hung in small vases from the trees surrounding the ceremony space; and the aisle will be set apart through a ruffled burlap runner and yellow flower petals.

The Reception: The reception space on the property is an old wooden hall, with beautiful details, like 32-foot ceilings and the circle chandeliers seen here.

The Escort Cards: Old-fashioned library card holders were the inspiration behind the escort cards.

The Tablescapes: A grey tablecloth will act as the backdrop to the tables' decorations. On it will be a teal burlap, lace-trimmed runner. A silver charger will back a teal plate, along with a rolled yellow napkin adorned with a teal floral napkin ring. The centrepieces, detailed below, will be accompanied by teal and grey candlesticks.

The Centrepieces: Along with the candlesticks, vintage books and silver pitchers will dress up the table. The pitchers, along with glass vases, will be filled with flowers to add colour. The wooden table numbers will rest on the centrepieces.

The Cake: A cute cake was a must for Ashley, so we searched far and wide to find the perfect one. What we chose was this gorgeous floral cake. A teal wooden cake stand, along with matching Mr and Mrs heart cake toppers will complete the look. The cake will be on a separate table accompanied by photos of the couple and similar details to the tables (like vintage books, vases, and candlesticks).

The Drinks: Yellow and teal lemonade is the perfect drink in the springtime.

The Favours: Ashley had the idea to give guests candles as favours, and I absolutely loved it! Lemon beeswax candles with a burlap "thank you" stamp is the final touch to make this a perfect favour.

The Extras: To give homage to Ashley's chemistry background, signs throughout the wedding will be spelled out using the periodic table. To keep it on theme, they'll be created using burlap flags.
