Teams: Super Bowl Color Inspiration

February with Dear Wedding Day: Teams

With the Super Bowl fast approaching, all eyes are on the final two teams: the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos.

Although tomorrow is the big game, today is a different kind of game: a color rivalry.
Let me know which color scheme you like better: Panthers or Broncos?

Frosty: White Wedding Cakes

December with Dear Wedding Day: Frosty

There is something so beautiful about the simplicity of a white wedding cake. It symbolizes a pure marriage, complete with yummy white frosting.

You can add white flowers or colorful ones, keep it naked with subtle frosting, or add natural elements to truly make a white cake unique.

Enjoy some of my favorites below!

Friendly Inspiration: Shruti

Today's Friendly Inspiration is a white, cream, and gold Indian-American wedding. If you missed the inspiration, see it here.

Shruti's Friendly Inspiration:

The Color Scheme: The wedding will be focused around whites and creams with accents of gold and deep magenta.

The Invitations: Gold foiled mehndi invitations will request the presence of friends and family.

Ceremony Location: The nuptials will take place on the green overlooking the ocean.

Reception Location: An outdoor reception will take place on the lower level of the golf course with beautiful views of the ocean.

Venue Details: This venue offers picturesque views of the ocean, making for perfect photography backdrops.

The Bride:

The Dress: Shruti will wear an embellished cream lengha, complete with beautiful beading and lace.

The Look: Keeping the Hindu tradition of mehndi, Shruti's hands and feet will be simply decorated. Adding to the look, Shruti will wear ornate gold bangles, have her hair in long loose waves, and carry a deep magenta and white bouquet.

The Bridesmaids: Shruti's bridesmaids will bring some color to the wedding by wearing deep magenta saris, accessorized with gold and magenta bangles and white bouquets.

The Groom & Groomsmen: Shruti liked the idea of her groom in a navy suit and the groomsmen in grey vests, so to match these looks to the rest of the wedding, the men will wear deep magenta ties. For boutonnieres, the groom will wear a white and magenta rose boutonniere and his groomsmen will wear magenta boronia boutonnieres.

The Ceremony: The ceremony will feature a traditional mandap altar in gold and cream drapery, decorated with cream roses and greenery. To match the altar, the aisle will be lined with cream roses, greenery, and candles.

The Escort Cards: To guide guests to their seats, an escort card display of white roses and henna-inspired cards will be set up outside the reception space.

The Reception: An open-draped tent will be decorated with lights and hanging tassels. The tables will have ornate white tablecloths with sparkled edges topped with cream and white floral arrangements and candles and golden place settings. The chairs will be gold, with added drapery and flowers to the bride and groom's chairs.

The Cake: A gold and white henna-inspired cake will be topped with floral love elephants.

The Favors: Shruti's love of art inspired her to paint mehndi designs on different colored candles, like the ones shown here. Guests will get to take home one of her designs, which will be displayed on golden cake stands in varying sizes.

Next week will begin my hiatus from Friendly Inspirations to focus on some new post ideas and my new job (yay!).

Friendly Inspiration: Jessica

If you missed the inspiration behind this romantic wonderland, see it here!

Jessica's Friendly Inspiration:

The Colour Scheme: This wedding will be surrounded by shades of purples and pinks with hints of white.

The Invitations: Romantic invitations in the wedding colours will start off the festivities.

Ceremony Location: The ceremony will take place in the Amber Room in front of a beautiful, old, 12-foot fireplace.

Reception Location: The reception will take place inside the Grand Salon, complete with high ceilings, porcelain tile, and large windows overlooking the garden and vineyards.

The Bride:

The Dress: Jessica will wear a tulle ballgown with a beaded corset by Tara Keely.

The Look: To accessorize her beautiful gown, Jessica wants to sparkle! She requested wearing blingy jewelry, including earrings, a necklace, and a pink diamond bracelet. She also requested a complete up-do with a tiara and veil, adding to the princess feel of her look. To complete the ensemble, Jessica will wear pink shoes with some added sparkle and a beautiful pink rose bouquet.

The Bridesmaids: The bridesmaids will wear light pink Occasions gowns, while carrying white and pink rose bouquets. To give them some added sparkle, Jessica's ladies will wear necklaces and bracelets full of bling.

The Groom & Groomsmen: The men will wear black tuxes and light pink ties, accessorized by pink rose boutonnieres. The groom will have a special boutonniere with added purple flowers.

The Ceremony: The ceremony aisle will be lined with pink and white petals and glowing candles. The chairs will add romance by having ribbon and roses hanging from the aisle seats. The mantle will be decorated with candles and an enchanted floral wreath.

The Cocktail Hour: In between the ceremony and reception will be a purple cocktail hour. The tables will  be covered in lavish purple tablecloths and light pink centrepieces. The guests will sip on signature cocktails in shades of pinks and purples.

The Escort Cards: Guests will be led to their seats with romantic escort cards done up with pink flowers and crystal spheres.

The Reception: To create an enchanting reception space, the circular tables will have light pink tablecloths and the rectanglular ones will have white tablecloths with pink tulle runners. The centrepieces will feature flowers in pinks, purples, and white along with glowing candles. Each place setting will have a purple napkin and menu card in purple watercolour.

The Food: The guests will be served a variety of tasty, gourmet foods.

The Cake & Dessert: The uniquely layered rose cake will sit in the middle of a pink dessert table, with an "Endless Love" cake topper.

The Favours: For favours, Jessica wanted to give chocolates, along with incorporate her love of movies into the gifts. To accomplish both, guests will receive a beautifully decorated purple box full of assorted truffles and a RedBox gift card.

Next week, a destination wedding in Spain!
